Latermix CEM Mini, 50 liters – lightweight cement screed

LATERMIX CEM MINI is an ultra-lightweight thermal and sound insulating cement screed with added hydrophobic expanded clay (LECA), compressive strength of 5 MPa, and a bulk density of 600 kg/m³, meaning 1 centimeter of it weighs only 6 kg/m². It is intended for the following external and internal applications:

• As an ultra-lightweight thermal and sound insulating cement screed, suitable for ceramic or stone flooring; Not suitable for laminate, parquet, or carpet (a proper vapor barrier must be installed between the screed and the parquet for such flooring to be applied);
• As thermal insulation and for creating slopes on flat roofs, terraces, slabs, on which waterproofing can be applied directly.

LATERMIX CEM MINI offers the following advantages:

• Extremely lightweight: weighs 600 kg/m³ when applied, which is about one-quarter the weight of a standard cement screed. This significantly reduces the load on the building structure, thereby extending its lifespan and improving its seismic resistance;
• Thermal and sound insulation: it is 10 times better in terms of thermal insulation than traditional concrete products (λ = 0.142 W/mK) and exceeds the insulation properties of many thermal insulating materials. It can be used to supplement or replace the insulation of flat or pitched roofs, floor slabs, and to reduce thermal bridges. Its porosity enhances sound insulation.
• Strong, stable, durable, and CE-marked: it has high compressive strength (5 MPa) and retains its properties over time. EN 13813 – Screeds and floor screeds.
• For internal and external use: can be used as a base or top screed, for creating slopes on roofs and slabs.

Instructions for use:

Pour the entire contents of each bag of Latermix Cem Mini into the mixer. Do not fill the mixer

more than 60% of its capacity (do not mix manually or with an electric drill).

• Add approximately 6–6.5 liters of clean water per bag. Pumps may require more water depending on the pumping distance.
• Mix for at least 3 minutes, until the mixture acquires a "paste-like" and "semi-liquid" consistency. Apply the mixture to the desired thickness and level with a straightedge. Do not compact. The product should not be mixed manually or with an electric drill.

Consumption

• Approximately 0.21 bags/m² for 1 cm thickness.
• Minimum application thickness is 3.5 cm.

Notes

• Not suitable for load-bearing structures.
• Application temperature range: +5°C to +35°C.
• Different seasons require different water dosages (less water in winter, more in summer).
• Latermix Cem Mini is not a fast-drying product: if the finished screed is to receive moisture-sensitive flooring (parquet or similar), it is recommended to install a proper vapor barrier between the two layers.
• For old or highly absorbent substrates, it is advisable to moisten the base before application to avoid rapid drying of the mix and potential cracking, or alternatively, to install a suitable vapor barrier under the Latermix Cem Mini.
• If there is a risk of rising damp from underlying layers, it is advisable to install a vapor barrier beneath the Latermix Cem Mini.
• In case of exposure to external weather conditions, ensure appropriate protective coating.
• Do not add more water to Latermix Cem Mini after it has already been mixed.
