Latermix FAST, 16 liters – fast-drying cement screed

LATERMIX FAST is a lightweight, fast-drying cement screed reinforced with fibers, allowing it to be used in small thicknesses. It is thermally and acoustically insulating, containing hydrophobic expanded clay (LECA), with a compressive strength of 20 MPa and a bulk density of 1250 kg/m³, meaning 1 centimeter of it weighs only 12.5 kg/m². It is suitable for the following external and internal applications:

• As a lightweight thermal and sound insulating cement screed, suitable for all types of floor coverings, including moisture-sensitive ones such as laminate, parquet, carpet, and vinyl flooring;
• For screeds and slope formation both indoors and outdoors.

LATERMIX FAST offers the following advantages:

• Lightweight: weighs 1250 kg/m³ when applied, nearly half the weight of a standard cement screed. This significantly reduces the load on the building’s structure, thereby extending its lifespan and improving seismic resistance;
• Thermal and sound insulation: it is 6 times more effective as a thermal insulator than traditional concrete products (λ = 0.27 W/mK) and exceeds the insulating properties of many thermal insulation materials. It improves floor and roof slab insulation and reduces thermal bridges. Its porosity enhances sound insulation.
• Reduced thickness: can be used from 2.5 cm thickness and does not require mesh reinforcement;
• Strong, stable, durable, and CE-marked: it has high compressive strength (20 MPa) and retains its properties over time. EN 13813 – Screeds and floor screeds.
• For internal and external use: suitable for screeds and slope formation both indoors and outdoors. 

Instructions for use:

Pour the entire contents of each Latermix Fast bag into the mixer. Do not fill the mixer more than

60% of its capacity (do not mix manually or with a drill).

• Add a maximum of 2 liters of clean water per bag. For standard on-site mixers, ensure the rotation axis is as horizontal as possible during mixing.
• Mix for at least 3 minutes until the mix reaches a “SEMI-DRY” “Moist soil” consistency.
• Apply the mixture to the desired thickness, compact it, level with a screed bar, and finish the surface with a finishing trowel.

Consumption

• Approximately 0.69 bags/m² per cm of thickness.

Notes

• Application temperature: +5°C to +35°C.
• Different seasons require different water dosages (less water in winter, more in summer).
• For absorbent substrates, pre-wet the surface to prevent excessive absorption, moisture loss, and dehydration, or alternatively, install an appropriate vapor barrier under Latermix Fast.
• If there is a risk of rising moisture from layers below Latermix Fast, it is advisable to install a vapor barrier beneath it.
